The Programs
Academic Programs
All our programs are meant for university graduates except for the Certificate in Christian Studies (for more on it, see below). In this sense, it is basically a graduate institute. So, all aspiring candidates must have an undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university. They must have fairly good knowledge of English because all instruction will be in English and because our programs involve academic rigor and writing essays for most of the courses except languages like Hebrew and Greek. Exams requiring repeat of information learned in the classes will not be the norm. Therefore, reading academic books and journals and reflecting on them would normally be required.
However, we do like to offer a basic program for adult learners who have no formal education or had no opportunity to go through a university, but have a passion for God’s Word and his ministry.
All our programs will be offered part-time for working professionals, and full-time for those who wish to complete them on a definite time frame.
Certificate in Christian Studies
Certificate in Christian Studies (CCS 20 credits): This is aimed at those who had no opportunity to go through a university. This is normally a terminal program, but exceptional candidates might be given a chance to go for a PG-Dip. CS.
PG Diploma in Christian Studies
Post-Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies (PG-Dip. CS 30 credits): This program is foundational for all other programs. Those who take MCS and M. Div programs with us will build on the courses taken in this program and have no need to repeat them again. This program is designed to prepare lay leaders, para-church workers, as well as pastoral leaders for a deeper understanding of the Bible and effective involvement in church’s ministry. This is offered on part-time as well as full-time basis.
Master of Christian Studies
Master of Christian Studies (MCS 60 Credits): Like the PG-Dip. CS this is also designed for the laity as well as those that wish to prepare for Christian ministry in a church or a para-church context. Adding another 30 credits to the previous learning would enable the students to deepen and broaden their knowledge and help them to further develop their analytical skills. The difference is the breadth and volume of subjects being covered. While the PG-Dip. CS covers core courses and a limited number of electives, the MCS covers more core courses and more electives, plus basic biblical languages such as Hebrew and Greek. In addition, a Thesis or a Research Project option will be required.
Master of Divinity
Master of Divinity (M. Div 90 credits): This program will add another 30 credits to the MCS and is designed both for the laity and the clergy. This would enable the students to take their language learning into advanced levels. The added credits allow them to explore specialized areas like pastoral counseling, ethics, world religions, and contextual studies.
